Top of Da Deck, Playing Their Cards Right
Local Sacramento CA DJ's

When you first meet these two young artists from Sacramento and Stockton, CA, you are immediately drawn to their innocence and young boyish looks, but sit down and have a conversation with Chris Villa and Chris Najera and you will feel the rapture of their old souls grab a hold.

The same can be said about the new music these two men are creating. Though they are both only 23, they write, sing and spin as if they have seen much more beyond their time. And some of what was just said could hold true.

Villa, having spent 4 years in the Marines, has seen some things that most men will never see. It made him grow up pretty quickly and also gave him a discipline that he still carries over into his music. He conquers his goals just as a soldier never quits. His drive and determination is a bit intoxicating.

Najera and Villa have been lifelong friends and when Villa recently was honorably discharged from the Marines, the two reconnected and started writing and performing together. They landed a gig performing with Snoop Dogg at Ace of Spades in Sacramento. Usually artists that are this new and just starting out get the earliest time slot. Meaning, if a venue opens at 7, most people don't show up until later in the evening so your show doesn't really get that much exposure.

Through their hard work, determination, discipline and just plain tenacity, these two men sold more tickets than any other group on the bill besides Snoop Dogg and earned themselves the opening act for the headliner. There were other acts that have been touring and performing with many more years of experience than Villa and Najera, but these guys surely lived up to their name TopofDaDeck.

They were like kids in a candy store, bright eyed and eager to please the hundreds that had showed up to see these new guys open for a legendary artist. People had no idea who these guys were or where they came form and during their performance they brought the house down!!

They have been touring all summer long and are excited for more to come!  Please head over to their social media pages and give these guys a listen and some Cali love!
